Upon arrival, when you leave the airport terminal please look for a tour guide displaying a welcome signboard with the Asia Tour Advisor Logo and your name and then transfer to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure for own first discoveries in Cambodia's capital. Overnight in former pavilion of the Queen Mother (The villa was built in the 1920's for the Queen Kossamak, mother of Prince Sihanouk. It is only 100 meters from the Royal Palace. The architecture is a combination of Khmer elements with a French colonial style. In the garden located beside the pool or a bar and a restaurant.

Detailed Itinerary:
After breakfast, have a full day sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh, crime scenes are visited by the Khmer Rouge, about Toul Sleng. The old school was used by the communists as the Stone Age, interrogation and torture centre, now home to a documentation of their terrorist regime. After this preparation Killing Fields of Choeung Ek is visited. The afternoon is spent in the PSE (Pour Un sourire d'enfant), an independent charitable organization (NGO) for children living in poverty. Lunch at the Lotus Blanc Restaurant, good Asian and European cuisine, is not included in the price. Subsequently, the school and the training centre can be visited. Crafts in the gift shop, will have produced the children and their mothers offered. In the afternoon, the National Museum is visited. At the centre are fascinating sandstone sculptures from Angkor. Finally there is the Royal Palace. In the tropical landscaped park is the Silver Pagoda, which has its name after more than 5,000 silver tiles in the floor. The pagoda is one of the greatest treasures of the country: a life-Buddha made of gold and diamonds. Stay overnight in Phnom Penh.

After breakfast our morning tour begins with a boat ride to Koh roof, which is also known as the Silk Island. There, a small village is visited, where silk-spinning is the main source of income. Here we learn about the weaving techniques as much as about the daily life. The bulk of the product is sold to traders in Phnom Penh. To both parties a purchase in the village is therefore beneficial, the manufacturer and the customer. Lunch in Phnom Penh is not included in the price. After lunch, the origin of Phnom Penh is mostly visited the Wat Phnom. The temple is situated on a beautiful hill and is still visited by many worshipers. The oldest pagoda dates from 1373 and houses four Buddha statues. Before it goes back to the sunset on the water, a stop can be placed on the Russian market, where there is everything possible and impossible to buy. The day ends with a boat ride on the Tonle Sap, which each year the bed changed. The highlight is the dramatic sunset over the river at the royal palace. In the subsequent return trip to the Mekong River takes you through some villages where you experience the fishermen to prepare for the nightly catch. Stay overnight in Phnom Penh.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive along the Mekong River along the northeast in the lively provincial city of Kampong Cham. Besides the beautiful buildings from the French colonial period, the city offers mainly through its two Proh and Phnom Srei Phnom hill, from where one can enjoy a wonderful view of the central Cambodia. Lunch at a local restaurant is not included. Along the way we keep in Skuon, which is known for its unconventional culinary specialty - the fried tarantulas - including Spider Ville. The route continues over Kratie, a sleepy backwater on the Mekong, with well-preserved buildings from the colonial era, home to a few of the rare freshwater dolphins. Visit to a river spot where the dolphins gather to feed in the afternoon. Stay overnight in Kratie.

Return to Kampong Cham on a dirt road along the Mekong. Here you cross vast rubber plantations of the colonial era, which today are cultivated again. In the morning of the trip leads to Angkor Wat, probably the largest temple in the world. After breakfast we will go on to another world. For this 9-day trip, you need only the bare essentials, a few easy things to change, sunscreen and bug spray, personal hygiene items, flashlight, and in no case should you forget your camera. The rest of your luggage is securely stored at the hotel. You will be met by a member of your host family. Already on your trip through rural Cambodia, you get an idea of what you would expect in the coming days.
You will act by your hosts yet but warmly welcomed once in the village. You should be aware of certain rules about which we inform you in advance, however. They are integrated from the first moment in family life. You will cook your own meal on a simple wood fire on a simple stove. After breakfast, make your own program. Your hosts are open to everything. Feed the Animals, or run them to drink, go fishing or fishing on the nearby Tonle Sap Lake. Take a trip to the nearby West Barey for a refreshing swim afterwards to help the family during field work. After dinner get socializing with a glass of rice wine, with a battery-powered lamp to donate, as there is no electricity yet. Stay overnight in the hut or a hammock outside, if you like it.
